The Cotter Junior High chess team placed second, and the Cotter Senior High placed third at the Chess Association for Arkansas Schools regional tournament in 1A-3A Tuesday.
In addition, senior Tucker Coots placed second overall in the senior high division and earned All-Regional at the tournament.
The Cotter Chess team is coached by Lisa Coots and Justin Benham.
