High school basketball makes up much of the local Thursday schedule as regional tournament play continues in Arkansas.
The Class 2A West Regional Tournament will wrap up its opening round at Danville. Flippin’s girls tip off at 4 p.m. against Hector. On the boys’ side, Yellville-Summit meets Lavaca at 5:30, and Flippin faces Hackett at 8:30.
The first round of the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament will come to an end at Calico Rock. In girls’ action, Viola gets underway at 4:00 against Hillcrest, and Izard County takes on Maynard at 7:00. On the boys’ bracket, Calico Rock plays Crowley’s Ridge Academy at 5:30, and Western Grove will be paired with Ridgefield Christian at 8:30.
The Class 3A Region 1 tournament resumes at Mountain View. In the girls’ games, Bergman tips off at 4:00 against Lincoln, and the host Lady Yellowjackets meet Elkins at 7:00. The Bergman boys face Elkins at 5:30.
Harrison’s girls will play the first game of the day in the Class 4A North Regional Tournament at Morrilton. The Lady Goblins take on Pottsville at 4:00.
The Jasper girls will begin action in the Class 1A Region 1 Tournament at County Line High School in Branch. The Lady Pirates play Scranton at 4:00.
Thursday will be another day of district play in Missouri as two local boys’ teams will take part in the semifinals of the Class 1, District 3 Tournament at Cabool. Top-seeded Dora tips off at 6:00 against Koshkonong at 6:00, and Bakersfield will be matched up with Eminence at 7:30.
