Searcy County authorities are on the lookout for a woman accused of making purchases with counterfeit money. Sheriff Kenny Cassell says the purchases were made at two Searcy County retail stores.
Sheriff Cassell reports a white female wearing a white top, red pants and white boots entered a store in St. Joe on Wednesday. She allegedly selected two gift cards at a total of $500 and paid for them with $50 bills. The manager of the store reportedly realized a short time later the bills might be fake and took them to a local bank where it was determined the bills were counterfeit.
The same female allegedly entered another store in Leslie and made a purchase later that day. She reportedly used the same demoninations used at the St. Joe retailer.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office at 870-448-2340.
