A fall into a manhole resulted in the death of a Taney County man. According to television stations KYTV and KSPR, 58-year-old Paul Miltello reportedly died from head trauma.
Officers responded Monday near the Highlands off Missouri Route T. Taney County Coroner Tony Mullen says it appears Miltello was working on a water line in his residence. Miltello reportedly went outside to turn the water back on, fell nearly four feet into the manhole and hit his head on a valve.
Taney County Sheriff Jimmie Russell says the accident appears to have occurred in the overnight hours because Miltello had a flashlight with him. The call to 9-1-1 came in Monday afternoon at 1:45.
