High school basketball makes up the local Thursday schedule as state tournaments continue throughout Arkansas, and Mountain Home’s girls will play their first game of the postseason. The Lady Bombers will be at Lake Hamilton High School in Pearcy as they meet Sheridan in the opening round of the Class 5A State Tournament.
Mountain Home comes into the tournament with a record of 17-10. The Lady Bombers finished the regular season with an eight-point victory over West Memphis on Friday to end up tied for third place in the 5A-East with Paragould and win the tie breaker for the No. 3 seed.
Sheridan is the second-seeded team from the 5A-South. The Lady Yellowjackets will bring a 22-4 mark into the tournament.
Mountain Home capped the regular season by winning five of their last six games, but Lady Bombers’ head coach Dell Leonard says Sheridan has also had a lot of success.
