
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) A community college in Hot Springs is teaming up with
a university in south Arkansas to offer bachelor’s degrees to students beginning
this fall.National Park College announced its partnership Wednesday with Southern
Arkansas University in Magnolia. According to The Sentinel-Record, students
will earn an associate degree from National Park College and a bachelor’s degree
from Southern Arkansas University upon graduation.
The new degree programs that will be available on the Hot Springs campus are:
biology, pre-health; chemistry, pre-health biochemistry; and computer science.
Southern Arkansas University President Trey Berry said the announcement marked a “historic day.” He says making four-year degrees available in Garland County will create “hope and opportunity” for students.
