A Fulton County deputy’s observation of a speeding vehicle traveling on State Highway 9 South in what was described as a careless and aggressive manner has led to the arrest of 34-year-old Joseph Lyons and five felony drug-related charges. Lyon’s address is not provided on court documents.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Tuesday, the deputy initiated a traffic stop last Thursday. A check with both the state and national crime information center databases indicated Lyons had an active search waiver on file.

A search of the vehicle led to drug residue and paraphernalia.

Lyons was placed under arrest and transported to the Fulton County jail where he was further searched. The search allegedly led to two baggies, one in Lyons’ crotch area and the second in his sock, both containing a white crystalline substance field testing positive as methamphetamine.

The five felony drug-related charges include possession with the purpose to deliver and furnishing prohibited or using prohibited articles.

Lyons’ bond was set at $25,000.
