The Mountain View High School girls’ basketball team will join the Izard County boys as one of the area teams bringing home a state championship. The Lady Yellowjackets won the Class 3A crown by defeating Atkins 59-48 Saturday in Hot Springs.
Aubrey Isbell led Mountain View with 24 points, and Kaley Shipman scored 21. Shipman was named the state tournament’s most valuable player.
The Yellowjackets wrap up the year with a mark of 29-5.
