The Melbourne High School girls’ basketball team claimed their first state title in 46 years. The Lady Bearkatz claimed the Class 2A crown after beating up on conference foe Riverside 48-23.
Reagan Rapert was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Rapert led Melbourne with 12 points.
The Lady Bearkatz conclude the season with a record of 30-4.
