
The Arkansas Activities Association released its of All-State and All-Tournament team selections from the high school basketball season, and a total of 36 area athletes were recognized.
Two Mountain Home girls were honored for Class 5A. Anna Grace Foreman was named All-State, and Payton Huskey was an All-Tournament selection.
Four local girls made the lists for Class 2A. Samantha Sanchez of Cotter and Reagan Rapert were among the All-State selections. Sanchez and Rapert were joined on the All-Tournament team by Melbourne’s Josie Roark and Kiley Webb, and Rapert was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
Four Marion County boys were also recognized in Class 2A. The All-State honorees include Jackson Baker of Flippin and J.T. Frazier of Yellville-Summit. Flippin’s Devyn Payne and Yellville-Summit’s Nash Dowden were named to the All-Tournament team.
A total of nine area girls were honored in Class 1A. The All-State team includes Macy Dillard and Whitlee Layne of Norfork, Madison Sellars of Viola, Stephine Henry of Mammoth Spring and Sierra Johnson of Jasper. Layne and Henry were joined on the All-Tournament team by Viola’s Samantha McCandlis, Rural Special’s Maddison Kocher and Kamryn Sutterfield and Jasper’s Taylor Davidson.
The Class 1A selections also included eight area boys. Justus Cooper and Caleb Faulkner of Izard County, Kyler Gammill of Timbo, Hunter Baker of Western Grove and Caleb Carter of Jasper were among the All-State selections. Cooper, Faulkner, Gammill and Baker were joined on the All-Tournament team by Calico Rock’s Cole Whiteaker, Izard County’s Coby Everett and Jasper’s Jonathan Schweitzer, and Cooper was selected as the tournament’s MVP.
Four area girls are on the lists for Class 3A. Mountain View’s Aubrey Isbell and Kaley Shipman were named All-State, and they are also on the All-Tournament team with Chaelann Vickers of Mountain View and Bethany Richardson of Valley Springs. Shipman was the tournament’s MVP.
Three area boys were also selected in Class 3A. The All-State honorees include Elijah Royce of Bergman and Ethan Flud and Isaac Ragland of Valley Springs. Ragland also made the All-Tournament team.
Harrison had two athletes recognized in Class 4A. Brylie Parker is on the All-State and All-Tournament teams on the girls’ side, and Carson Jernigan was picked for the All-State boys’ team.
