Registered voters in Stone County are being asked to go to the polls on Tuesday. County officials have placed a one-cent sales tax issue on the ballot to fund a new detention facility.

Stone County Detention Administrator Kirk Green says the capacity of the current detention center is 39 inmates, but they are currently averaging 50 to 55 inmates on a normal day. Green says the facility is also having some structural issues.
