LITTLE ROCK – The Little Rock women’s basketball team earned a No. 12 seed in the 2019 NCAA Tournament when the NCAA released the tournament bracket on Monday. The Trojans will play No. 5 seed Gonzaga on Saturday in Corvallis, Ore. as a part of the Albany Region. The matchup will take place at 2:30 p.m. CT. on ESPN2.

If Little Rock advances to the second round of the tournament, it would play the winner of No. 4 Oregon State and No. 13 Boise State on Monday.

This will be Little Rock’s sixth trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2010, when it made its first trip. The Trojans have posted two NCAA Tournament victories over the years with the last coming as the No. 11 against No. 6 seed Texas A&M in 2015 when they defeated the Aggies 69-60. Little Rock’s first NCAA Tournament victory came in 2010 when it was an at-large bid to the tournament. The Trojans took down No. 6 seed Georgia Tech in the first round when they went into the tournament as a No. 11 seed.

The Trojans have never faced off against West Coast Conference opponent Gonzaga and are 2-2 all-time against teams from the WCC.

Little Rock won their fifth Sun Belt Tournament Championship on Saturday to earn the automatic bid to NCAA Tournament. The Trojans managed to outlast South Alabama 57-56 behind Kyra Collier’s 21-point performance while Ronjanae DeGray posted 19 points and 10 rebounds for her tenth double-double of the season.

Ticket information for the Trojans’ NCAA Tournament game will be forthcoming.
