The late legend’s hometown team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, will be celebrating the Purple One’s legacy April 5 when they take on the Miami Heat at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
“Be there to see [two-time All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns] and the Pack go crazy + get your hands on an exclusive 7″ Prince vinyl giveaway which is only available at this game,” the team announced. “That’s right — you’re gonna go home with an exclusive vinyl of music from the Purple One!”
The single will feature two songs by Prince, one of which is the 1995 track “Rock and Roll Is Alive (And It Lives in Minneapolis).”
The Wolves have been promoting Prince’s ties to Minneapolis with their special City Edition nights, during which they wear purple jerseys, and feature artists associated with Prince, such as Sheila E and Morris Day, performing during halftime.
