A Mountain Home woman whose accusation led to a man’s arrest pled no contest during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court to filing a false report with police and misdemeanor drug charges.
Forty-five-year-old Renee Wyatt reported to police a man had taken her vehicle without permission. She made a second contact with police sharing a note allegedly written by the car thief explaining he had Wyatt’s vehicle and would return it later.
He was eventually arrested driving the allegedly stolen car.
The investigation continued, Wyatt was developed as a suspect and eventually admitted she had let the man drive the car and told police she had written the note she shared with them herself.
Wyatt also pled no contest to misdemeanor drug charges stemming from a search of a residence she shared with her live-in boyfriend, a convicted felon with a search waiver on file.
Police found drugs and drug paraphernalia in the house.
Her probation sentence on the misdemeanor drug charges will be served concurrently with the one handed down in the false report case.
