Local baseball teams have mixed results; Valley Springs wins in softball

The Calico Rock High School baseball team had a good road outing Friday. The Pirates were able to beat Concord by a final of 9-2.

Izard County made the short trip to Melbourne and defeated the Bearkatz 15-6. The Cougars improve to 6-2 on the season.

Bergman started the Ozark Baseball Classic on a rough note in Harrison. The Panthers were edged out by Pocahontas 3-2.

Valley Springs began the Ozark Softball Classic in Harrison on the winning track. The Lady Tigers doubled up Springdale 6-3.
