Missouri State women meet Stanford in Sweet 16

The Missouri State women’s basketball team will make their first Sweet 16 appearance since 2001. The Lady Bears continue action in the NCAA Tournament Saturday as they meet Stanford in the Chicago Regional semifinals.

Missouri State came into the tournament as the 11th-seeded team in the region after winning the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. The Lady Bears are 25-9 on the season after upsetting Iowa State Monday on their home floor. Stanford is the No. 2 seed in the Chicago Region and came into the tournament as the champions of the Pac 12 Conference Tournament. The Cardinal picked up a nine-point win over BYU on Monday to improve to 30-4.

Tip-off at Wintrust Arena is scheduled for 5:30. Saturday’s game can be seen on ESPN2.
