A second attempt to transfer the terroristic threatening case of a 17-year-old Dora student to juvenile court has been denied. Skyler Ledbetter of Gainesville is alleged to have said he would set off explosives at his school.
The West Plains Daily Quill reports the decision last month was before a new judge elected in Ozark County to replace 44th Circuit Associate Judge Cynthia MacPherson.
Just as MacPherson did the first time, her replacement, Judge Raymond Gross, denied the motion.
Ledbetter’s felony charge stems from a September 2018 social media incident in which he allegedly told a witness he planned to cause an explosion at Dora High School.
According to the probable cause statement, in the social media message, Ledbetter reportedly said he intended to “drive his truck through the school, detonate a bomb and kill everyone who has bullied him.”
An Ozark County Sheriff’s deputy said, “Mr. Ledbetter indicated ‘voices’ told him what to do.”
The records show prior to turning the bench over to Judge Gross, MacPherson ordered Ledbetter to be released to probationary services after a mental examination was completed and filed in mid-December.
