Tuesday marks another election day for Missouri, as several tax issues and city and school district races will be decided. The Gainesville R-V School District will ask its voters to decide the fate of two financial proposals.
One request is for an increase in the district’s operating tax levy ceiling by 47 cents from the current $2.75 per $100 assessed valuation to fund renovations and upgrades. The other proposal is a general obligation bond issue of 28 cents to pay for a new gymnasium.
In addition, two school board positions will be voted on in the Dora R-III School District. Incumbents Lynda Smith and Jeff Strong will be joined on the ballot by Jay Smith, Tim Masters, Dan Hurd and Dustin Howard.
A number of voters in Ozark and Douglas counties will decide among four candidates for two positions in the Ava R-I School District. Rance Clark, Dan Johnson, Anna Gamboa and Brandi Kay Stanifer are the names on the ballot.
Polls will open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
