MH gets 2 wins in Berryville softball jamboree

The Mountain Home High School softball team wrapped up the week by taking part in a jamboree Saturday in Berryville. The Lady Bombers came away with two victories as they racked up a total of 32 base hits.
Mountain Home began the day by defeating the host Lady Bobcats 16-10. Reagan Hasselwander picked up the win as she pitched 6 1/3 innings. Gracie Uchtman led the Lady Bomber offense with three hits, a walk, a stolen base and two RBIs; Mattie Belk had three hits and two RBIs; Bella Bevel provided two hits, including a two-run home run, and drove in four runs; Chassie Whitlow ended up with two hits and three RBIs; and Katelyn Hill added two hits and two RBIs.
Mountain Home later took their second game of the day with a 12-7 decision over Har-Ber. Lauren Loving was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts and three earned runs. The Lady Bombers were led by Bevel with three hits, a walk, three runs and four RBIs; Uchtman had three hits, stole two bases, scored two runs and drove in two more; Addison Yates ended up with two hits and two RBIs; and Emily Payne added two hits and two runs.
Mountain Home improves to 12-4 on the season, and they’ll return to 5A-East action on Tuesday when they go to Paragould for a varsity doubleheader with Greene County Tech.

A few area teams were in Harrison for the Ozark Softball Classic.
Flippin ended up splitting a pair of games at the Equity Bank Sports Complex. The Lady Bobcats topped Huntsville 9-6, but they fell to Cedar Ridge 5-2.
Viola notched another victory in the tournament. The Lady Longhorns beat Bergman by a final of 14-1.
Omaha did not fare as well in the tournament. The Lady Eagles lost to Cedar Ridge 14-0.

Gainesville wrapped up the Sparta Lady Trojans Softball Classic with a pair of losses and a fourth place finish. The Lady Bulldogs started the day by losing to Billings 14-1, and they later fell to Marionville 6-1.

Calico Rock competed in a softball tournament at Heber Springs. The Lady Pirates started off with an 8-2 loss to Harding Academy and were later edged out by the host Lady Panthers 8-7. Calico Rock did salvage a win by shutting out Jacksonville 4-0.
