Springfield man gets 22 years in prison for week-long crime spree

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP)   A 30-year-old Springfield man who committed several crimes during the course of a week has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Justin Russell was sentenced Monday for the crimes in November of 2015.

Russell pleaded guilty in January to burglary, tampering with a motor vehicle and five counts of first-degree robbery.

The Springfield News-Leader reports police said Russell targeted women who were alone at night outside commercial shopping centers as crime victims.
