UMeA limited-edition vinyl LP of raw studio mixes of the songs on John Lennon‘s classic 1971 album Imagine will be released this Saturday, April 13, as part of the 2019 Record Store Day event.

The Imagine (Raw Studio Mixes) album is pressed on 180-gram black vinyl, and will be available exclusively at independent record shops.

Lennon recorded stripped-down performances of the 10 songs live with his Plastic Ono Band on a soundstage at the center of his home studio. The tracks first appeared on the Imagine: The Ultimate Collection super-deluxe box set released this past October, but have never been available on vinyl before.

The raw mixes lack any reverb, tape delay or other effects added when John, Yoko Ono and co-producer Phil Spector put the finishing touches on the album. The mixes were created by engineer Rob Stevens, and were overseen by Ono.

Imagine includes the memorable John Lennon songs “Jealous Guy,” “How Do You Sleep?,” “Gimme Some Truth” and “Oh Yoko!”
