Pink Floyd RecordsPink Floyd will mark the 25th anniversary of its 1994 studio album The Division Bell by reissuing the record on June 7 as a limited-edition two-LP set pressed on translucent blue vinyl. The release is available for pre-order now at the group’s official online store.
The Division Bell was the last album recorded by Pink Floyd’s post-Roger Waters lineup — singer/guitarist David Gilmour, singer/keyboardist Richard Wright and drummer Nick Mason — and was released in the U.S. in April 1994. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and has since been certified for sales of three million copies in the U.S.
“Marooned,” one of two instrumentals on The Division Bell, won a Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. The album also featured three tracks that made it into the top 10 of Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock chart — “Take It Back,” “High Hopes” and “Keep Talking,” the latter of which reached #1 on the tally. Gilmour’s then-fiancee and future wife Polly Samson contributed lyrics to seven of the record’s 11 songs.
Gilmour co-produced The Division Bell with Bob Ezrin.
