Concord RecordsSantana has premiered an official video for a new song titled “Breaking Down the Door,” which will appear on the band’s upcoming studio album Africa Speaks.

The danceable tune, sung by Spanish singer Buika [pr: BWEE-kah], is infused with Latin horns and African percussion, and features the fiery guitar work by Carlos Santana. The upbeat sound of the tune distracts from the dark lyrics, which tell the story of a woman who is physically abused and then killed by her husband.

The video, which you can watch at Santana’s official YouTube channel, features scenes of young people dancing at a bar, including a couple who seem to represent the main characters in the song. Interspersed throughout the clip is footage of Carlos playing guitar and Buika singing in front of a background of flowers and other colorful images.

“Breaking Down the Door” is available now as a digital single and via streaming services. People who pre-order Africa Speaks will receive free downloads of that song and the previously released track “Los Invisibles.”

Africa Speaks will be released on June 7. The 11-track collection was produced by Rick Rubin, and came together over a prolific 10-day period at Rubin’s Shangri La Studios in Malibu, California. Buika, who won the 2008 Latin Grammy for Album of the Year, sings on all of the songs.
