A man from Shirley was killed Thursday in a single-vehicle accident during heavy rain in Stone County. The Arkansas State Police identify the victim as 55-year-old Michael Kenny Phillips.
The report indicates Phillips’ vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. The accident happened on State Highway 263 near the Baxter County line. The report says heavy rain was falling at the time of the accident at 3:10 p.m.
