A Gassville man is accused of taking two vehicles from his ex-girlfriend’s mother and not returning them. Thirty-seven-year-old Jeffery Shepherd was arrested Monday on a felony count of theft of property and two misdemeanor counts of unlawful use of a vehicle.

The alleged victim went to the Gassville Police Department on Jan. 7th to report her vehicles missing. She said she loaned a pickup truck sometime around Thanksgiving to her daughter’s boyfriend, identified as Shepherd. The victim also stated they broke up right after Thanksgiving, and Shepherd left in the truck for an unknown location. She said she repeatedly requested Shepherd return the truck. She also stated her daughter reconciled with Shepherd, but he did not return the truck.

The victim said her daughter once again broke up with Shepherd, and he left the residence on Christmas Day in her compact car. Both vehicles were entered in the Arkansas Crime Information Center, and it was believed he might be in Oklahoma where he’s originally from.

Shepherd is currently in the Baxter County Detention Center with bond set at $5,000.
