Fulton County authorities have arrested 61-year-old Harold Wallace after his son called 911 to report his father was shooting into a residence where he and his brother were hiding. Wallaces address was not provided in online court documents.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed Monday, Wallaces son said their father had shot through the door of the residence and had attempted to shoot the deadbolt off the front door. He said he and his brother had locked themselves in a bedroom in an attempt to avoid the shooting.
Wallaces son said he had looked outside to see his father walking toward his camper without the weapon. He exited the residence and found the gun on the front porch. No description of the weapon was provided. He said he took the gun and placed it inside several tires to keep it from his father.
Law enforcement arrived at the undisclosed residence, and Wallaces son advised he believed his father was asleep in the camper.
When an officer knocked on the door, he could hear someone speaking inside, but could not understand what was being said. After several attempts to get someone to answer the door, Wallace identified himself and said he was not coming out. He also said if the officer came inside, he would get what was coming to him.
After several further attempts to get Wallace to answer the door, he complied and lunged toward two deputies in an aggressive manner.
The deputies took into account Wallaces criminal background involving assaults as they tried to control the situation. Wallace reportedly resisted arrest, swinging wildly at the two officers and saying he was going to take care of one of them and did not care what happened to him.
Wallace was taken into custody and has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault on a family or household member, as well as misdemeanor counts of refusal to submit to arrest and first-degree assault. His bond was set at $50,000.
