CENTERTON, Ark. (AP) – A special prosecutor has cleared two northwest Arkansas police officials of any state crimes regarding overtime they were paid.Special prosecutor Jack McQuary did refer to federal authorities some of the investigation into Centerton Police Chief Cody Harper and Capt. Kristopher Arthur. A letter from McQuary noted both were paid a total of nearly $19,000 in overtime even though they are salaried employees who don’t qualify for overtime.
An internal audit found much of the overtime was funded from a federal grant program.

worked overtime under the federal Selective Traffic Enforcement Project program.
Both said at Tuesday’s meeting they were innocent of any wrongdoing and were cleared to return to duty.
