
Baseball and softball make up the local Saturday schedule as regional tournaments resume in Arkansas.
After two days of rainouts, the Class 2A West Regional Baseball Tournament will start Saturday at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. On Pippin Field, Yellville-Summit gets underway at 2 against Danville, and Cotter meets Lavaca at 4:30. Flippin faces Mountainburg at 4:30 on Jack Williams Field.
The Class 1A Region 1 Baseball Tournament will get underway at Scranton. Ozark Mountain gets the action started at 10 a.m. against County Line, Jasper takes on Western Yell County at 12:30, Omaha plays Mulberry at 3, and Lead Hill will be paired with Scranton at 5:30.
The Class 1A Region 2 Baseball Tournament continues at Viola with its semifinal round. Mammoth Spring and Izard County get started at noon, and Viola meets Armorel at 2:30.
Salem will resume play in the Class 2A North Regional Tournament at Marked Tree. The Greyhounds face Bay in the semifinals at noon.
Harrison will compete in the semifinals of the Class 4A North Regional Tournament at Farmington. The Goblins take on Pottsville at 2:30.
The Class 2A West Regional Softball Tournament gets started at Harrison. Cotter begins action on Wood Motor Field against Danville at 2, followed by Yellville-Summit and Lavaca at 4:30. Flippin will be matched up with Hector at 4:30 on Cavender’s Field.
The Class 1A Region 2 Softball Tournament will hold its semifinals at Viola. Calico Rock and Hillcrest get started at noon, and Viola plays Armorel at 2.
The semifinals of the Class 2A North Regional Softball Tournament will be held at Marked Tree. Melbourne meets East Poinsett County at noon, and Salem faces McCrory at 2:30.
The Class 1A Region 1 Softball Tournament begins at Scranton. Jasper takes on the host Lady Rockets at 10, Lead Hill plays Western Yell County at 12:30, and Omaha meets Mulberry at 3.
