
Authorities are investigating the alleged assault of a homeless man in Harrison. According to KYTV/KSPR, the Harrison Police Department responded around 7 Tuesday morning to reports of a man with a head wound lying in a ditch near Taco Bell on U.S. Highway 65.
Harrison’s assistant police chief says a medical team was called to the scene, and a detective spoke with the unidentified victim who said he was staying under the bridge with other homeless people. The victim alleges a fight broke out, and he was robbed of an unknown amount of money and struck in the head with a brick. Detectives were able to locate a brick with blood on it.
The victim was transported to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison and later to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. The investigation is continuing.
