Another event to collect items for local food-insecure families and residents is scheduled for this weekend. The Bull Shoals Food Pantry will be working Saturday with the United States Postal Service and its staff and carriers in Flippin to collect cans and non-perishable food items as part of the nationwide Stamp Out Hunger Drive.
Additional sponsors of the drive include Kellogg’s, Valpak and UFCW, a union representing postal workers. In addition to cans and non-perishable foods, toilet paper is also being collected.
The Bull Shoals Food Pantry’s service area includes Midway, Lakeview, Bull Shoals and Flippin. Jack Knowles is a volunteer with the pantry, and he says the goal is to get at least one can from everyone in the service area.
