MHHS students excel at AR Young Artist Competition

Mountain Home High School art students received a number of awards at the Arkansas Young Artist Association Competition in April in Little Rock. Each student was encouraged to bring up to five original works of art, with the option to compete in a 60-minute on-site art competition.

Approximately 1,600 students statewide participated this year.

MHHS art student awards include Beatriz Ramirez, 12th grade, fourth place in charcoal/abstract; Amberly Schaffer, 11th grade, third place in charcoal/abstract and elected as AYAA state reporter; Emma Jones, 12th grade, third place, fiber arts/realistic; Cheyenne Ethridge, 10th grade, three fourth-place awards, pen & ink/expressive, charcoal/realistic and pencil/on-site; Alexandria Dill, 12th grade, first place in dry color medium/on-site; Reagan Buckley, 10th grade, first place, fiber art/realistic and honorable mention in charcoal/realistic; Elise Kerns, 11th grade, third place, printmaking/relief; and Rebekah Ritchey, 11th grade, fiber arts/expressive.
