Baxter County moving ‘Forward’ as chamber unveils economic plan

Photo: Glenbriar Commons, a residential housing community located at 16th Street and Laurel Road in Mountain Home, will include three-bedroom homes for families and patio homes for those 55 and over. Glenbriar Commons is being developed by Leisure Homes Corporation of Mountain Home.

The sounds of heavy equipment, hammers, saws and drills are permeating throughout Mountain Home with multiple high-dollar commercial and residential construction projects underway.

The projects span numerous needs in the Twin Lakes Area, including healthcare, senior housing, manufacturing, finance, retail and government.

Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jeff Pipkin says the projects point to a strong economy in the area that is strengthening.

The Baxter County Forward action plan will be unveiled Tuesday morning at 10 at the Sheid on the campus of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home with a launch party. Local community leaders and Arkansas Tourism Director Jim Daily will be on hand for the unveiling.




The plan outlines key area economic development goals based on community input.
