Miss Northwest Arkansas, Alexis Ungerank, in a recent visit to the Mountain Home Rotary Club, spoke about the Miss Arkansas scholarship contest in June.
Last year, Ungerank represented northeastern Arkansas in the state competition and placed in the top 15, with a goal of making at least the top 10 this year.
Her platform is Living the Gold Standard – applying the Bible’s Golden Rule in interacting with others and being a positive role model.
Ungerank’s dance talent has already helped her win $8,000 in scholarships over the past year that she is using toward her education.
She is the daughter of Mark and Hazel Ungerank and is a student at the University of Arkansas where she is a business major and a member of the dance squad for all UofA sporting events.
