Baxter County Sheriff’s Office reports busy but uneventful holiday weekend

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office had a busy but uneventful holiday weekend. Sheriff John Montgomery says over the Memorial Day weekend deputies stayed busy with 112 complaint calls or calls for service from Friday through Monday but no significant incidents occurred.

Twenty-seven people were booked into the Baxter County Detention Center from all law enforcement agencies during the period including three for driving while intoxicated, one for boating while intoxicated, six for drug possession or drug paraphernalia possession, one person for public intoxication, five for domestic violence charges, nine arrest warrants were served and four people for resisting arrest.

Sheriff’s deputies also issued 10 traffic citations and 38 written warnings.

Baxter County deputies also patrolled parks and campgrounds on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers property under contract and conducted random water patrols on Lake Norfork.
