Flippin students win state offices, awards at AYAA convention

Art students at Flippin High School won several state offices and awards at the Arkansas Young Artist State Competition and Convention in Little Rock.

Flippin students elected as state officers include new President Erika Stoner, First Vice President Avery Garst, Treasurer Karissa Herron and Corresponding Secretary Karissa Herron. The school’s awards include Garst finishing second in tempera abstract/non-objective, Herron taking second place in onsite pencil/graphite, Deanna Willis ending up second in ceramics non-functional, Brenna Metts finishing third in colored pencil abstract/non-objective and Shannon Smith receiving honorable mention in onsite mixed media.
