Eagle Rock EntertainmentA previously unseen concert film capturing Carole King performing at Switzerland’s Montreux Jazz Festival in 1973 will be released as a DVD/CD set on June 14, while audio-only versions will be available the same day on CD and vinyl LP.
Live at Montreux 1973 documents the lauded singer/songwriter’s first concert ever outside of the U.S. The show begins with a short solo set featuring King accompanying herself on piano that’s made up mainly of songs from her smash 1971 album Tapestry. Carole is then joined by an 11-piece band — including jazz saxophonist and flutist Tom Scott — with whom she plays most of her then-latest album, 1973’s Fantasy. King closes the show with solo versions of two more of her classic compositions — “You’ve Got a Friend” and “(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman.”
