A legendary basketball coach returns to the Twin Lakes Area as Youth Appreciation Day is scheduled for Friday at the L.C. Sammons Youth Center. Next Step Athletics founder Wayne Mendezona, better known as “Coach Mendo,” will present his Quick Handle Basketball Camp Friday from 9 until 3 free of charge to local youth from third grade through high school.

Mendezona says he set up Next Step Athletics in 2011 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
