Lockeroom finishes 2nd in Twin Lakes Classic; MacLeod ends up 4th

The Mickey Huskey Twin Lakes Classic came to an end Sunday at Cooper Park with both of Mountain Home’s American Legion baseball teams falling.

The Lockeroom finished the tournament as runners-up after Pontotoc, Mississippi, picked up their seventh title in the tournament. Mountain Home’s senior squad fell to Pontotoc in six innings by a score of 10-2. Mountain Home drops to 13-6 on the season.

The Mountain Home junior squad did not fare any better in the third place game. MacLeod lost to Paragould by a final of 16-3.

Individual awards included the Lockeroom’s Caleb Johnson being named the most valuable player as he batted .636 for the tournament with a home run and 10 RBIs. Will Uchtman also brought an award for the Lockeroom as he was named the top base thief. For MacLeod, Carter Graves was named the outstanding pitcher of the tournament, and Brodie Ninemire was selected as the outstanding coach.

Three athletes from the Mountain Home teams were named to the All-Tournament team. Luke Dibble and Tyler Guffey represented the Lockeroom, and Keegan Rickman represented MacLeod.
