Concord RecordsSantana‘s new studio album, Africa Speaks, has debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 after seling 57,000 units, almost all of them from album sales.

This marks the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame act’s highest-charting album on the Billboard 200 since 2005’s All That I Am, which peaked at #2 on the tally.

Africa Speaks becomes Santana’s 15th album overall to reach the top 10 of the chart. Four of the group’s albums have reached number one, including the 15-times-platinum Supernatural, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.

A good portion of Africa Speaks‘ sales came from a redemption offer where fans buying tickets to the band’s upcoming tour also received a copy of the album.

As previously reported, the new record features original songs inspired by modern African music, with lead vocals provided by a Latin Grammy-winning Spanish singer named Buika (pr: BWEE-kah).

Santana will be the musical guest on Tuesday night’s episode of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which airs at 11:35 p.m. ET/10:35 p.m. CT.

Guitarist Carlos Santana and his band will be launching a new tour called the Supernatural Now trek on Thursday, January 20, in Irvine, California. The Doobie Brothers are the support act for the entire outing, which runs through an August 25 show in Wantagh, New York.
