Busy baseball schedule set for Saturday

Baseball makes up a busy Saturday schedule as several local youth teams will be in tournament action.

The Mountain Home Lockeroom American Legion team will wrap up pool play in #GoNuts Classic with a pair of back-to-back games in Charleston, Missouri. The Lockeroom meets Jefferson City, Missouri, at noon, and they’ll take on Paragould at 2.

Several other area teams will compete in state tournaments sanctioned by the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA).
Mountain Home’s 12-year-old Class AA squad will begin pool play in the Arkansas State Championships with two games at Conway. The Fury faces the Arkansas Crusaders at 11 and MBA at 1.
Bracket play gets underway for the Mountain Home 11-year-old Class AA team in the Arkansas State Championships at Alma. The Bombers take the field at 6 against the winner between the 3D Raptors and the Fort Smith/Greenwood Warriors.
Mountain Home also has an 8-year-old team starting pool play in the Arkansas Class AA Coaches Pitch State Championships at Maumelle. The Cardinals play the Klutch at 1:30, and they’ll be paired with Lester Perfect Timing at 3.
Mountain Home has another 12-year-olds team finishing pool play in the Arkansas Class A State Championships at Greenwood. The Pilots will meet the Faultline at 9 a.m.
The Mountain Home Baseball Academy 7-year-olds will play their last pool game in the Arkansas Class A Coaches Pitch State Championships at Cabot. Mountain Home faces the Faultline at 12:30.
