Local baseball teams have mixed results in USSSA state tournaments

Several local youth athletes were all over the state on Friday to begin action in state baseball tournaments sanctioned by the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA).

Mountain Home’s 11-year-old Class AA squad began the Arkansas State Championships in Alma by winning both of its pool games. The Bombers first started by shutting out Crowley Perfect Timing 6-0. Mountain Home later squeaked by the BFB Academy Ducks 6-5.

The Mountain Home 12-year-old Class A team lost its opener in the Arkansas State Championships at Greenwood. The Pilots were edged out by the Allen Prospects 6-5.

The Mountain Home Baseball Academy 7-year-olds also fell in their first game in the Arkansas Class A Coaches Pitch State Championships at Cabot. Mountain Home was defeated by the Alma Airedales 8-0.
