The Marion County Library Board will meet in a special session Tuesday afternoon at 2:30.The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the requests of the county judge and the quorum court following a special meeting last week.
In the quorum court meeting June 25, the board and County Librarian Dana Scott were directed to begin submitting monthly financial reports to the court for review, following the practice of other county entities.
The requests follow a recently completed legislative audit finding the library in noncompliance with state law and accepted accounting practices in establishing a charitable fund for the benefit of the library with “public funds.”
The board meeting will be held at the Marion County Library.
