With approximately six weeks until the targeted opening of the expansion of the Baxter County Detention Center, the quorum court is set to consider two items of business regarding the new jail. The quorum court will meet Tuesday evening at 6 in regular session.
The justices will first consider an ordinance adding six full-time positions for the new jail. Then, they will consider an ordinance adding expenses for items due to the additional positions. Those expenses include a new transport van to handle anticipated increased workload needs.
Two resolutions will also be before the court authorizing Baxter County Judge Mickey Pendergrass to apply for grant funding on behalf of the Clarkridge and Lone Rock fire protection districts.
The meeting will be held in the second floor courtroom of the Baxter County Courthouse.
