Fiancee: Michigan plane crash pilot stable after surgeries

BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) – The fiancee of an Arkansas man seriously injured in a mid-Michigan plane crash says he’s is in stable condition after multiple
surgeries.

Taylor Easley says 27-year-old Patrick Jimenez of Russellville is
sedated but in stable condition at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor.

She tells MLive.com Jimenez suffered a collapsed lung, broken bones in his
left leg, a ruptured right eye, a broken left arm and multiple facial fractures.

She says he was getting ready to land Saturday evening at James Clements
Airport in Bay City after flying a banner when winds picked up.

Deputy Bay City Public Safety Director Edward Bromberg says the airport has reopened after being temporarily closed. Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have arrived to investigate the incident.
