Missouri Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers will be available for distribution Monday morning in Gainesville. The vouchers will be available from 9 until 11 at The Center on Missouri Highway 5 North at the city limits.
According to the Ozark County Times, recently passed federal legislation allows qualifying seniors ages 60 and older to use the vouchers to purchase produce at local farmers’ markets. Eligible seniors receive 10 $5 vouchers annually to purchase fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey.
Applicants must provide proof of identification (birth certificate or driver’s license), residency (utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, property tax receipt, government-issued check or housing rental contract) and income (maximum gross household income no higher than 185 percent of the annual federal poverty level).
