Lady Antebellum‘s latest hit, “What If I Never Get Over You,” is a serious song about heartbreak. But, surprisingly, Hillary Scott says the ballad’s also inspired some pretty funny memes on social media.

“I think one of the things that I’ve really gotten a kick out of — and it’s not making light of heartbreak — but it’s the memes that people will post of, like, you know, their really like hysterical crying Kim Kardashian face,” she says. “Or like all the memes that people are putting with [the song saying it’s] giving them the feels.”

Ultimately, Hillary believes fans are connecting with the song because it expresses a universal emotion.

“We’ve all been there in our own lives, you know, at one point or another, or maybe a couple times if you’re me. And I got my heart broken a few [times],” she tells ABC Radio.

“So it’s just really awesome to feel that connection with the fans that they’re gravitating toward this lyric too,” she adds, “and they are acknowledging that they’ve felt the same or might be feeling that way right now.”

“What If I Never Get Over You” is the lead single from Lady A’s forthcoming first album for Big Machine Records.
