A Baxter County woman has been arrested for sexual assault for an incident involving her daughter. Thirty-eight-year-old Christle Jean Horton of rural Mountain Home was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a charge of sexual assault in the fourth degree.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Horton is alleged to have kissed her four-year-old daughter with an open mouth and tongue and touched her breasts while saying she was “making sure they are still there.”

The alleged incident happened July 9 during a supervised visit between Horton and her daughter and was reported to the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline two days later. During an interview with investigators, the child described the kiss as “ticklish.”

Investigators also interviewed a witness to the events, the suspect’s mother, who said she knows the suspect had kissed the girl as described at least once, and she heard the victim say, “That tickles.” She also heard the suspect say to the victim, “Just checking to see if they are still there.”

Horton is free from jail after posting $2,500 bond.
