
This week’s Friday Night Block Party headliner for the third week of Super August is the Burnin Daylight band. Music and activities will begin at 7 Friday night on the courthouse square in downtown Mountain Home. The event is free to the public and all are welcome.
Lee Anne Jackson sings lead and harmony vocals for Burnin Daylight. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree, with an emphasis in music performance from Belmont University in Nashville. She is an active member of the Twin Lakes Playhouse and has helped direct music for several productions. She also played the lead in the production Always Patsy Cline.
Cate Jackson is the 14-year-old daughter of Craig and Lee Anne Jackson. She is a ninth grader in Mountain Home. She has been singing with her momma since she was 2-years-old.
Kapshandy plays rhythm guitar and sings harmony. Kapshandy started playing acoustic guitar when he was 15 years old and has been playing guitar in church for over 25 years in Mountain Home.
Chastain plays bass guitar and is a main staple in the Mountain Home music scene. Chastain started playing music in church with family (Chastain Family, Ozark Quartet) and has played with numerous groups including the 100 Proof Band and Crossfire.
Dixon plays lead guitar, sings lead, and does the MC work for the group. Dixon has played lead with groups from Texas to Mountain Home. He has 21 years of experience and has played in 17 different bands.
Patterson started playing drums at an early age and has played for groups from Neosho, Joplin, Branson, Ogden, Utah, and Mountain Home. Patterson toured with groups and enjoys working with different people and playing country, jazz and classic rock.
This week’s block party is sponsored by Bob and Linda Zdora on behalf of the Twin Lakes Retired Police Officers Scholarship Foundation, a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization with the purpose of funding scholarships for children and grandchildren of active and retired law enforcement officers.
A number of food vendors will be on hand selling their specialties, including barbecue, tacos, homemade cream soda, cupcakes, funnel cakes, kettle corn and lemonade, and the Baxter County Historical and Genealogical Society will be selling ice cream sundaes.
All attendees will have a chance to win door prizes during the band’s intermission.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs when they come out to enjoy what has become a summer tradition.
