Personnel from three agencies, along with volunteers, are continuing their search for a Lakeview man who is presumed to have drowned on Bull Shoals Lake Monday afternoon near Lakeview Marina.
Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says the man, 64-year-old Ralph Rush, was seen around the water’s edge about 10 Monday morning using a red walker. Authorities were notified shortly before 1 Monday afternoon, after the walker was found in the water, along with a submerged cellphone. Rush’s wallet containing his driver’s license and cash was located near the water.
Montgomery says a search and recovery effort that started Monday is continuing Tuesday, including divers, underwater sonar and underwater cameras. Officials from the sheriff’s office, Arkansas Game and Fish and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, along with volunteers, are taking part in the search.
