Over the next few weeks, all students in grades four through 10 in the Mountain Home, Cotter and Norfork school districts will receive tech cards from the Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County.

Tech cards allow students, who might not otherwise visit the library, to get a regular library card and access a variety of educational resources on the library’s website.

For example, online services such as Brainfuse and World Book are available for homework help or project research. Brainfuse offers live online tutoring for any subject, from AP biology to geometry from 2 until 11 p.m. daily, plus ACT and SAT test prep help.

Access to culture and language programs are also available with library tech cards. Mango Languages is one of the most popular language and culture learning systems around the world. ProQuest, another program available with the tech card, offers age-appropriate content, high-quality databases and interactive media, while developing research, writing, language and computer skills.

Students will even have access to creative resources like CreativeBug, a large collection of video arts and crafts workshops, and ArtistWorks, a catalogue of music lessons taught by experienced music teachers on a variety of instruments.

All tech card resources are available on the student portal at Baxter County Library. The four-digit pin used to log in is printed on the back of each library tech card. Students may not use the library tech card to check out physical books or items.
